Kay Yang
Principal Architect, AIA, NCARB
Kay Yang founded Studio Yang in 2021 where she leads the design of residential and commercial projects for private clients. With a passion for architecture and a commitment to excellence, Kay brings a wealth of experience and talent to every project she undertakes.
Kay is a registered architect licensed in the United States, with experience working at some of the leading architecture practices in the world, including Neri & Hu Design and Research Office, SCDA Architects, M Moser Associates, and Ong & Ong. Kay received her Master of Architecture from Yale University, where she was awarded the William Edward Parsons Memorial Medal, and nominated for the Feldman Prize in both of her respective advanced studios. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley with minors in City Planning and Sustainable Design, where she was a recipient of the Judith Lee Stronach Scholarship Grant and the Ong&Ong Prize.
Kay's extensive background and global perspective inform her approach to design, which emphasizes context-driven methodologies and an engagement with the everyday. She has lived and worked in Manila, Berkeley, Copenhagen, New Haven, Singapore, San Francisco, and Shanghai, bringinging a unique and diverse perspective to her work.
